Introduction
AD8304 is a single-chip logarithmic detector, optimized for low frequency signal power measurement in fiber optic systems. It uses advanced transconductivity technology to provide a wide dynamic range that is diverse and easy to use. Using proprietary design technology and precise laser adjustment, the device can also achieve wide measurement range and high-precision characteristics. In most applications, only a +5 V single power supply VP is required, but a 3.0 V to 5.5 V power supply can also be used; the additional use of a negative power supply VN is beneficial for some applications. When using a low supply voltage, the logarithmic slope can be easily changed to fit the usable range. Low quiescent current and chip disable features are beneficial for battery-powered applications.
