Product introduction
The AS5040 is a contactless magnetic rotary encoder for accurate measurement of angles up to 360 .The product is a system on a chip that incorporates integrated Hall components, an analog front end, and data signal processing capabilities in a single package.
To measure angles, simply equip a bipolar magnet that rotates over the center of the chip.The magnet can be mounted above or below the IC. This absolute Angle measurement provides an instant indication of the angular position of the magnet with a resolution of 0.35 , or 1 024 positions per turn.Digitized data can be given in the form of a serial bit stream or a PWM signal.In addition, it can also provide user programmable incremental output, which makes the chip suitable for replacing various optical encoder products.The AS5040 has a built-in volt age regulator that allows it to operate at either 3.3V or 5V supply voltage.
